Regarding the use of essential oils, it is important to note that they can corrode the humidifier, causing the water tank or base to crack. It is recommended to avoid adding essential oils to the humidifier.

While you can place it on the floor or a wooden table, it is recommended to use a tray underneath to prevent any potential wetting of the surrounding area due to the increased humidity levels.

The humidifier's bubbling or knocking sound while running is normal and is simply the sound of water moving from the water tank to the base. This does not affect the device's performance.

Regarding the water source, it is recommended to use distilled water, as tap water may contain minerals that can cause scale buildup over time, requiring more frequent maintenance.
